I honestly just remembered this story but my neighbour runs a hotel with a library where they have a “take a book, leave a book” policy and one day he went into the library to find that the shelves had been completely cleared out, nothing was left except for one little thing.

What was left behind, you ask?

A single copy of The Book Thief.

How ironic

GOOSEBUMPS.

My day in pictures, from left to right: my fruit-by-the-foot resting in the rubble (berry tie dye flavored), the CHAIR, me and the Prior children, “the Hub”, and as always, Chicago is beautiful.

I so wish I still lived near Chicago so that I could see some of this filming. If only. Can’t wait for this movie.

Butler has uploaded a video of my commencement address to the class of 2013, which one can’t help but notice…is longer than the 12 minutes I so confidently promised. I sort of quit working the last month and did nothing but write this speech, and I couldn’t even get the time right. (I guess I read a lot faster alone in my basement.)

SORRY!

I’d like to thank everyone who’s shared the speech, especially the Los Angeles Times, Publishers Weekly, Galleycat, and Entertainment Weekly.

If you’d prefer to read the speech, you can do so here.

Where was this speech when I graduated college?? Granted, I don’t remember the speech given at my graduation. But still. I would’ve remembered this one. So good.
